Watch Kurulus Osman Episode 54 Urdu Subtitles
Firstly, I was pleasantly surprised by Sultan Melikshah’s decision for Tekis. It really embodied the “Cruelty towards the oppressors, Mercy towards the Oppressed” principle. An emotional roller coaster right from the first scene. Melik Tekiś begging Melikshah to spare him and the Melikshah feeling both merciful yet angry was stellar acting. Then, the scene where Tekiś was being punished was hard to watch at first, but Omar Khayyam’s beautiful poetry over it was really moving. How blind we humans are, how sad that we lust after power, how sad that we choose to be blind to the realities of this Dunya. In that scene I didn’t just see Tekiś as a traitor, I saw him as someone who could have been any of us. That same Tekiś was the son of Mohammad Alp Arslan, he was the brother of Melikshah. He was raised nobly with love, yet his lust for power lead him to that fate.
Goes to show that even the best of us, the holiest of us, the most loving of us must be vigilant that we don’t fall into the trap of lust. Whether it be the lust for power, or anything else, it will surely lead to our end. What will happen to Tekis’s son now? The scene where his son was hugging him while he was going crazy was also really sad.
